Welcome to our Frequently Asked Questions page. Here, you’ll find answers to the most common queries from participants taking part in our professionally produced portrait photography initiative.

Whether you’d like to know more about what happens during the shoot, how images are handled, or what to expect as a first-time participant, this page is designed to provide clear and helpful information. Our aim is to ensure the process feels straightforward, transparent, and comfortable from the moment you book.

This initiative has been carefully developed to be inclusive, professionally managed, and respectful of every participant involved. If your question isn’t covered here, our team will be happy to provide further guidance and support.

  • This is a professionally produced portrait photography initiative focused on capturing natural, high-quality imagery that reflects real people in authentic, everyday settings.

We’re casting both professional models and individuals with no previous modelling experience. The opportunity is open to participants aged 8 years and above, with sessions designed to be relaxed, fully guided, and comfortable for everyone taking part.

  • Participation is simple, comfortable, and professionally managed from start to finish.

Each participant takes part in an individual portrait session led by experienced photographers, with gentle guidance throughout. Shoots take place in relaxed, real-world environments, creating imagery that feels natural and authentic rather than staged.

Sessions typically last up to 30 minutes, though there could be some waiting time, and all participants receive payment for their time, paid on the day. The experience is designed to be friendly, supportive, and easy for everyone taking part.

  • We are currently running portrait sessions in Manchester and London with additional locations being introduced as the project continues to expand.

If sessions are not yet available in your area, we still encourage you to register your interest. Your enquiry helps us plan future shoot locations and prioritise areas with the highest demand.

  • Facial images are classified as biometric data under UK and EU law. As part of this portrait photography initiative, participants are therefore required to complete a Biometric (Enhanced) Model Release before taking part.

This agreement confirms that your images will be used solely for the purposes of this project and will never be publicly linked to your identity. It also outlines how your images and personal information are handled securely and ethically, with strict limitations on usage.

You will have the opportunity to review the release in full before signing, ensuring you feel fully informed and comfortable ahead of your session.

  • No. Images captured as part of this portrait initiative are not published, shared publicly, or posted on social media.

They are used solely for the purposes of this photography project and remain private and securely managed at all times, with participant confidentiality fully respected.

  • Yes. Children aged 8-17 years are welcome to participate, provided a parent or legal guardian is present throughout the session. A parent or guardian will also be required to sign the model release on the child’s behalf.

All sessions involving minors are conducted with additional care, safeguarding, and supervision in place. Children must feel comfortable in front of the camera and be able to follow simple guidance from the photographer to ensure the session runs smoothly.

  • We recommend wearing clothing that feels comfortable, looks good on you, and reflects your everyday personal style. As shoots take place in real environments, wardrobe may sometimes be guided by the setting - for example, gym locations may require activewear, while spa or hotel settings may call for appropriate leisurewear.

Where possible, it’s best to avoid large logos or prominent text, as simpler outfits help keep the focus on you. If you’re unsure what to bring, our producers will be happy to provide guidance ahead of your session to ensure you feel confident and prepared.

It is also best to avoid wearing head-to-toe black or white, these colours will need to be broken up e.g. Red top and black trousers is fine.

  • We are seeking a diverse and representative group of participants to take part in this portrait photography project. This includes individuals of all ethnicities, body types, abilities, and personal styles, as well as people of all genders and gender expressions.
